必要は上手よりも大切」：生きた言葉の学び
By; Ali Syarief 今朝、私はヒッポファミリークラブでの多言語学習の体験について書きました。教科書もテストもなく、「上手になる」ことを目指さない、普通とは違う学び方です。赤ちゃんが言葉を覚えるように、聞いて、まねして、人とつながり、音や会話の中で生きたまま言葉を身につけていく旅です。 そんな私の文章に、親しい友人ミリが感想をくれました。彼女の言葉はとてもシンプルですが、心に深く響きました。 Needs is better than good 私はハッとしました。自分の文章をもう一度読み返し、その言葉の意味を心で感じました。しばらくして彼女はさらに書き加えました。 Need is necessary. Language is necessary for life. その瞬間、私は強く胸を打たれました。私は「上手になりたい」から言語を学んだのではなく、「必要だった」からこそ学んだのだと、思い出しました。理解したい、理解されたい、つながりたい、ただ生きるために、私は言葉を必要としていたのです。…
